The God of Hope
In difficult seasons joy comes from a few different places. One of those is hope.
Initially it sounds kind of empty to me. “I’m just gonna hope things get better one day.”
But that’s not the kind of hope we find in Jesus.
“but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” Isaiah 40:31
"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11
“And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.” Romans 5:5
“For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what they already have? But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.” Romans 8:24-25
And this is my prayer for you today:
“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Romans 15:13
We can choose to hope in Jesus and he will not disappoint.
Hope in Jesus is not just wishful thinking.
It’s choosing to trust the one who loves you perfectly. The one who is good. Always. The one who promises to never leave us.
Placing our hope in him is placing it in the creator of the universe! The one who controls everything we see. We can trust him with our hope.
He is absolutely faithful. And he loves you.
