The Joy, Joy, Joy...

We can find joy everywhere. But first we have to know the source and origin of all joy.

My favorite verse in this journey so far is Zephaniah 3:17.

“For the Lord your God is living among you. He is a mighty savior. He will take delight in you with gladness. With his love, he will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs.””

There is so much I could say about this verse! God uses four different expressions for the word “joy” here!

I’ll go into greater detail in the book but the simple “saraphrase” is that God delights in you! He is joyful and sings and dances joyfully over YOU! WOW! 😮

Joy starts with him. When he is our source then we can find joy in everything.

Can you take a minute and let the truth that he rejoices over YOU sink in? ❤️

Another amazing passage about joy comes from John 15. It’s some spiritual math. Which sounds scary but is actually a great thing! 😉 It simply means God says if “this” happens, then “this” will always happen. (Aka 1+1 always = 2)

The quick “saraphrase” is God, through Jesus, is our source for everything. IF I stay connected to Jesus THEN I will have everything I could possibly need. And my life will be WAY better than if I were disconnected from him. AND if I’m connected to him, HIS joy will be in me and that joy will be abundant and perfect!!

Yes please!!

““...I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing....I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete.”

So, how do we stay connected to him? You just did it! Read his word. Talk to him. You can talk to him just like anyone else. Ask questions. Thank him for his word. Or just sit quietly. Think about his words. Just be. 🥰that’s it.
